About Mrs. Freeze |
|
Hello! My name is Sharon Freeze and I have been the Librarian at Hilburn Academy for 9+ years. I have worked in the Wake County Public Schools for 28+ years. I love being a librarian! My passion is to share books and information with students and help them become life-long users of the library. I also view the library as a place to learn about, create, communicate, collaborate on, and think critically about all kinds of information and literature.
I am retiring on January 15, 2021. My grateful thanks to all the students, staff, and parents that I have worked with over the years. I wish all health and happiness. Keep reading! I have lived in Raleigh most of my life. I graduated from UNC-Greensboro with a degree in music and then a masters degree in education. I received my masters degree in library science from NC Central. My family includes my husband and two grown children. My daughter, Clara, works in Las Vegas with Cirque du Soleil on the lighting team for Beatles: LOVE. My son, Sam, is attending graduate school at Virginia Tech where he is working as a bat biologist. |
I like to camp, hike, kayak, bike and read. My husband and I took an eight week camping trip to Indiana/Michigan/Minnesota/Wisconsin/Illinois/
Tennessee this summer. It was an adventure! I experienced and saw so many beautiful places. Some highlights were seeing Lake Superior, the Lincoln Museum, and International Falls, MN. I also enjoy all kinds of volunteer work at my church. |
